Woman balloon vendor held with drugs worth Rs 50,000

Panaji police have arrested a 30-year-old woman in connection with a drugs case and seized ganja worth Rs 50,000 during a raid conducted in the city on Thursday. The accused has been identified as Lalita Pawar (30) police said, adding that the accused is a roadside vendor selling balloons or toys. The accused lady is a native of Pandarpur Maharashtra and residing in the city, near Campal ground. Police based on a source information laid a trap and arrested the accused woman near a hotel in the city on Thursday afternoon. The woman was found in possession of ganja weighing 510 grams worth around Rs 50,000, police said. The raid was conducted by the Panay police team led by PSI Arun Dessal under the supervision of PI Siddhant Shlrodkar. Incidentally, Panaji police a few months back had arrested a man, also a roadside vendor selling balloons or toys In the city. Even another such vendor was arrested by the Crime Branch police recently in a drugs case in the city.
