Creativity unleashed by special education students

Sanjay Centre for Special Education Goa is currently holding an art and painting exhibition at the Kala Academy Art gallery. The beautiful artworks were done by students who are hearing impaired, intellectually disabled or have a learning disability. They worked under the guidance of art teachers. Approximately 100 paintings are put up for display. More than 60 students worked on them.  The young artists belong to different branches of Sanjay Centre and are between 6 to 22 years of age.  The walls of the art gallery were filled with landscapes, glass paintings, acrylic colours, Madhubani paintings, sketches, abstract paintings, along with some delicate craft works.

The main motive of this project was to help each individual child find their identity. Therefore, they were free to create whatever piece of art they desired. They took references from the internet and magazines or came up with their own ideas.  The exhibition cum sale will be open until April 12 from 10 am to 7 pm.
