Capacity building program inaugurated at Sanskruti Bhavan

The five day ‘Capacity Building training’ for public library personnel which has been organised by the National Mission for Libraries (NML), department of Art and Culture (Government of Goa) and Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation (RRRLF) was inaugurated on February 19 at Sanskruti Bhavan, Panaji.

The programme was inaugurated by Uma Kanjilal (Professor of Library and Information Science in (IGNOU)), in presence of Anirban Biswas (programme coordinator), Carlos Fernandes (curator) and Gurudas Pilarnekar (director, Art and Culture).

Speaking on the occasion Pilarnekar urged the participants to share their knowledge to others and not let it remain confined within the boundaries of their organisations.

The purpose of the capacity building program is to enhance the professional competence of library personnel. The five day training programme would comprise theoretical presentations and hands on practical sessions by library science and IT professionals. The participants will also be given assignments individually as well as in groups with an aim to judge their learning outcome.
