3 Konkani books on River Saraswati to be released on May 9

Bhartiya ltihas Sankalan Samiti, Goa Pradesh is publishing three books in Konkani – ‘Katha Saraswati’, ‘Nadi Saraswati’ and ‘Saraswati Nadi: Sod and Bodh’ on May 9 at 530 pm, at Institute Menezes Braganza, The chief guest for the function will be Governor, Mridula Sinha; minister for urban development and law, Francis D’Souza; industrialist, Shrinivas Dempo; and Haribhau Vaze representing Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti.

The books published in fourteen different languages are works of several researchers who took the initiative in collecting facts together to prove the existence of River Saraswati that is drying up. Babasaheb Apte Smarak Samiti, Bengaluru took up the task of writing books for common people, students to create awareness about this extensive research, Thee books contain research done from geographical, historical, linguistic, geological, hydrological, sedimentological, archaeological data in a systematic way for an easy understanding of readers. The books have been translated to Konkani by Bhushan Bhave and Anant Kelkar, a task supported by Shrinivas Dempo.
