Nestled deep within Goa’s heartland, far from the city’s noise and bustle, Mahamaya Farms offers a serene escape where nature thrives undisturbed. Located in the picturesque Sal-Bicholim village, the farm sits near the southern bank of the Chapora River, where fresh waters meet the saline waves of the Arabian Sea, flowing between Chapora in Bardez and Morjim in Pernem.

The farm was brought to life in 2010 by nature enthusiasts Shrinivas Dempo and his wife Pallavi, who envisioned a sustainable farming ecosystem. Spanning over 20 acres of rich greenery, Mahamaya Farms is a haven of biodiversity. Its centuries-old trees provide a natural canopy as you explore the grounds. The farm boasts an organic harvest of fruits nurtured by experts on the farm. The wide array of trees include coconuts, cashews, chickoos, bananas, papayas, jamuns, amlas, kokum, star fruit, pepper, betel nut, cocoa, mulberries, gooseberries, guavas, sweet potatoes, breadfruit, avocados, narangis, and soursop.

In addition to its fruit trees, Mahamaya Farms houses a dairy with Jersey and Holstein-Friesian cows, producing 110 liters of milk daily, much of which is supplied to Goa Dairy, with some available for direct sale. The farm is also renowned for its organic nursery, particularly the sought-after Bandhavle variety of coconut palms, along with betel and cashew saplings.
Committed to environmental sustainability, Mahamaya Farms fosters eco-friendly agricultural practices and raises awareness about sustainable farming, especially among local students. Through its initiatives, the farm plays an active role in promoting a greener future for Goa.
