The late Wendell Rodricks was a Goan fashion designer who is known internationally. People used to come to him for fashion advice and other creative ideas at the age of seven. The memory of his aunty’s minimalistic designed wedding gown had an impact on his work which is why he earned the title ‘Guru of Minimalism’. It gave him great joy to create something new and didn’t look at magazines, televisions or newspapers for ideas. In his opinion, “Women want to feel taller, slimmer and more beautiful while men look for practicality in daywear and clubwear for evenings.”
Goa has played a huge part in his philosophy which can be seen through his products like resort wear and eco-friendly clothing. One of his plans was his turning old home into the Moda Goa Museum.
