The temple of Mahalsa Narayani is situated in the centre of Mardol village in Ponda taluka. A very special feature of the Mardol temple is the appearance of Shri Mahalsa in various Alankaars at various periods, during various times of the day. The temple has huge wooden pillars and silver framed doorway. The presence of the Deepasthamba , the Dnyandeepa and the Samai gives an exquisite treat to one’s eyes. The Samai which is 40 feet high has 21 rings of 150 small lamps on it. When these lamps are lit up with oil wicks on the day of zatra, the Samai looks magnificent.

The zatra of this temple is observed in the Magh (January-February) month. The zatra begins on the Magh Krishna Paksha Chaturhi day with Maharathanusthan, Garudarohan followed by Mayurasanotsav and Astavadhan Seva at night and ends on the Magh Krishna Paksha Dashmi day with Vijay Rathotsav.
