If you crave for hundred percent Goan food then Mum’s Kitchen restaurant, located in Panaji, is worth a try. It started in 1997. The restaurant has a charming pond with fishes outside. The ambience is lovely and furniture like tiled tables make the place look good. They have a lot of signature dishes like different prawn curries that are named after mothers.
They’ve introduced dishes with many local fish, sea crab curries and others. Maria from Mum’s Kitchen says, “I am unique in my own way. I work very hard to give my credit to Goa. People who are real foodies come here. I am even particular with the ingredients I buy. I don’t take shortcuts. Each dish is different.”
Some of their popular dishes are Pork Sorpotel, Kombdechem Sukhem, Lobster Reichado and many more lip-smacking dishes. In the desserts section they have the traditional desserts such as ‘Mangannem‘ , which is prepared from gram dal, grated coconut, jaggery and cashew-nuts, they also serve ‘Alle Belle‘ which is a pancake with a filling of coconut and jaggery.
