Joe Lobo, the owner of the Good Earth Farm has a passion for organic produce. He says, “I want to live healthy and happy”. The farm is a charming place where you are greeted by adorable animals and birds like rabbits, turkeys, chickens, ducks, peahens, and goats. He grows various vegetables and fruits according to their seasons like brinjals, string beans, white pumpkin, pumpkin, ginger, onions, maize, pulses, sunflower seeds, tomatoes, drumsticks, pineapples, mangoes, bananas, chickoos, sour limes, cashews, breadfruit and even honey.

The problems he faces are that the yield of organic farming is 40% less than that of normal farming along with some pest issues and lack of good seeds. To solve this he says, “I have to keep trying to find new methods.” He uses vermicompost for his farm which consists of animal waste diluted with vegetable waste and dry leaves. For repellents, he uses neem juice or a ginger, garlic & chili paste.
