Popular High School, Margao in association with Yuva Sanjivni is inviting students to explore their creativity during this period of crisis with a ‘Draw from Home’ contest. The topic for the contest is ‘Coronavirus Awareness’. As part of the contest, participants are asked to illustrate their ideas and create awareness about the critical need for prevention and management of COVID-19. The ‘Draw From Home’ initiative is open to students from all schools at state level. Participation and submission for this contest is through digital form only. Unkept Wods and In The Time of Books are hosting a short story writing contest for Goans. The stories must contain an element of Goa and should be limited to 1500-2500 words. There are two categories. In the first category, winner of the first place will be awarded a `3000 cash prize, winner of the second place will be awarded two books of his or her choice, and winner of the third-place will be awarded the Winternight trilogy by Katherine Arden. In the second category, winner of the first place will be awarded a `5000 cash prize, winner of the second place will be awarded two books of his or her choice, and winner of the third-place will be awarded three books by Mitch Albom. As part of TukTuk’s #masksforsmiles initiative, an online drawing competition for children is being organised. The judge for the same is Prasad Bidapa. The contest is open to kids in the age group of five to nine and 10 to 14 years. Entry to the contest is free of cost. The artwork should be emailed to tuktukgoa@gmail.com by May 15. The winning designs will be printed on organic cotton masks. The masks will be donated through the V care foundation to kids suffering from cancer. Fundacao Oriente is organising an open call for entries for the FundacaoOriente Visual Arts Award (FOVAA) 2020. The competition is open to any artist, 18 years and above, customarily residing in Goa.
