Goa Science Centre, Miramar will organise Creative Science Workshop sessions for school students. Batch I of the workshop will be held from April 24 to April 29 with sessions on Science Spectrum for students of class 5 to class 7. The session will feature hands-on inquiry-based learning where students will make and take home projects that relate directly to each topic. Science Kit Making for students of class 8 to class 10 will teach students to fabricate kits based on different scientific principles. Batch II will start from May 11 to May 16 and will comprise sessions like Science Toy Making for students of class 5 to class 7. Here students will make toys using simple and easily available materials and learn the science behind the working of toys. Skill Development in Electronics for students of class 8 to class 10 will teach students basic electronic concepts and how to identify various electronic components, constructing circuits, soldering, etc. A special workshop including live science demonstrations, hands-on activities, science film shows, etc, will also be held. The Kashinath Mahale Asmitai Award will be presented to publisher Prabhakar Bhide on April 26, 5:30 p.m. at an event organised by Asmitai Pratishthan, at the convention hall at Hotel Mandovi. Chief guest at the event will be industrialist and philanthropist Audhut Timblo, while guest of honour will be former president of All India Parishad, Tanaji Halarnkar.

This Wednesday, 24th April 2019 at 6.30 pm, Sunaparanta will host the screening of ‘Radio Days’ at Sunaparanta indoor gallery, presented by Arvind Sivakumaran.   Film: Radio Days (1987) Written & Directed by: Woody Allen Starring: Mia Farrow, Julie Kavner, Dianne Wiest Run-Time: 87 mins   This lesser known gem is a nostalgic and comedic look at the glory days of American radio, its performers and the impact of this “new” medium on normal working class families in the 30’s and 40’s.

Sunaparanta – Goa Centre for the Arts in collaboration with Abhivyaktee present Theatre Workshop from 28th April 2019. This is a 15-day intensive Theatre Workshop, with special emphasis on Tiatr as a form of theatre.  The workshop will cover practical sessions in scripting, music & other aspects of the tradition of Tiatr.  Other session highlights are Acting, Use of Stage, Voice and Speech, Use of Props, etc. Tiatr practitioners will also be invited to conduct special sessions.
