The Butterfly conservatory is located on a remote hill in Pirol village of Ponda taluka, this conservatory is designed as a sanctuary and not as a zoo. This conservatory is managed by Yashodhan Heblekar and his wife Jyoti Heblekar.

The conservatory attracts various species of butterflies in the months of October and November. There are various types of plants that attract the butterflies. So far the conservatory has documented 100 species of butterflies.

Apart from being a place to see various species of the butterflies, one can also see various species of birds such as the Parakits (love birds) of different colors.

According to Mr. Heblekar who transformed this hillock into a conservatory says that it “were the efforts his wife Jyoti, who was the driving force behind the butterfly park and the roof garden”

Another distinctive feature of this conservatory is the Mr. Heblekars roof top garden. This roof top garden helps in rain water harvesting process. It pumps the rainwater from the house tanks up to the hilltop which is a few hundred meters away, and let it flow down again.
