Konkani Drama Competition results

The results of the Konkani Drama Competition organized by Kala Academy have been declared and accordingly “Kasale Ani Ghosale” staged by Atharva Ved, Altinho-Panaji has been awarded the first prize of Rs 1,00,000/-. “Suryaput” staged by Athashree, Ponda and “Hav Te Ani Toh” staged by Shree Sai Digambar Krida Ani Saunskrutik Mandal, Assagao has won second and third prizes of Rs 75,000/- and Rs 50,000/ respectively. The Consolation prizes of Rs 25,000/- each was awarded to “The Concealed” staged by Asth Creations, Pilgao-Bicholim & “Hav Savita” staged by Madanant, Savoi-Verem.

The first prize for best direction was awarded to Shri. Mayur Datta Mayekar for the drama “Kasale Ani Ghosale”. Shri. Dilip Dessai for the drama “Suryaput” and Shri. Shivendra Tari for the drama “Hav Te Ani Toh” have bagged second and third prize respectively for the best direction.

The first prize for best acting in the male category was bagged by Shri. Ashvek Dessai for the role of Shridhar in the drama “Hav Te Ani Toh” whereas the second prize was awarded to Shri. Nitin Kolvekar for the role of Sharad in the drama “Hav Savita”. The merit certificates of acting (male) have been awarded to Shri. Gautam Bakhale – Raghurai (Suryaput), Shri. Venkatesh Gaunekar – Bajrang (Suryaput), Shri. Tulshidas Dhonshikar – Pilku (AajunKayach Javana), Shri. Ashwesh Gimonkar – Dhana (Rakhan), Shri. Rajesh Naik – Sonu (Suvari) &; Shri. Vaibhav Kavlekar – Rangnath (The Concealed).

The first prize for best acting in female category was awarded to Purti Sawardekar for the role of Manik in the drama “Kasale Ani Ghosale” whereas the second prize in acting was bagged by Aishwarya Nayar for the role of Sulochana in the drama “The Concealed”. The merit certificates of acting (Female) have been bagged by Nita Desai- Yugandhara (Suryaput), Vruksha Karmali – Kavya (Logout), Mamta Shirodkar – Shaku(Rakhan), Nikita Naik – Sailee (He Sainatha), Swati Shirsat- Janati Ahilya (Ahilya), Sushma Mhamal – Timay (Bavli Ghar) & Saundarya Mhalshi – Tarabai (Lakhatlo Ek Navro).

The best stage set up award was bagged by Shri. Saidutt Kamat for the Drama “Logout”. The best light effect award is secured by Shri Rohak Mangeshkar for the drama “Suryaput”.The best costume award is awarded to Manuja Lokur Narvekar for the drama “Bavli Ghar” and merit certificate is given to Rupali Naik for the drama “Suvari”. The best background music award is given to Vinay Gawas for the drama “The Concealed”. The best make-up award is awarded to Shri Teli Fadte for the drama “Suvari”.      


The first prize for Script writing is bagged by Dr. Tanvi Bambolkar for the play “Logout” and second prize for script writing is bagged by Shri Prasad Kalangutkar for the play “Hav Te Ani Toh”. Prize for the best script translation is awarded to Shri Vasant Bhagwant Sawant for the play “Kasale Ani Ghosale”.

The Competition was recently held at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda. The total number of entries received was 20 out of which only 13 plays were staged in this competition. The panel of judges consisting of Shri Madhukar Joshi, Shri Rohidas Shirodkar & Shri Laxmikant Shetgaonkar had judged the competition.
