Woodcut printing is one of the oldest forms of relief printmaking, it’s been used in ancient Chinese art forms, India as block printing on textile, and Europe too. It involves carving out designs on wood and using ink to relief print on paper or cloth. In this workshop, each participant will be given their own woodblock to carve out a design they wish to, and learn basic techniques to get various textures, sharp lines, and desired effects. About the Artist: Mansi Trivedi She pursued her Bachelors in Painting(2006-10) and Masters in Printmaking(2010-12) from Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S.U, Baroda. She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows, from the Khajuraho International Arts Festival to Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai.
