Walk for Freedom

A Walk for Freedom had been held on the 19th of October which aimed at bringing awareness against slavery still prevalent in our Country and around the world. The event was held at Kala Academy. The start and end point of this event was at Kala Academy, and the participants walked through Dayanand Bandodkar Marg back to the end point.

Chief Guest of the event, Beena Phillip, the founder of Bethesda Life Center commented saying, “You don’t have to be a social worker to end trafficking. If you see something suspicious, report it to childline (1089) or the police and you have done our part.”

The event started off with about 150 participants taking an oath to do anything within their means to help curtail slavery. Many students from Don Boscos, Carmel College of women, Goa University participated in this movement as well. The lead partner in the Goa’s first Walk for Freedom is the Bethesda Life Center. The walk for freedom is an initiative by A21 in partnership with more than 150 NGOs all over India.
