State to witness light rainfall

The state will witnesses light rainfall due to cloudiness in the region with day to remain cooler and night warmer.

According to IMD the temperature in the state has been fluctuating in the past few days owing to drizzle in pockets. A predominantly overcast sky and subsequent rise in humidity levels have led to a shift in the weather, especially the temperature at night.

They said the change in weather was because of weak trough extending from Maldives to eastern Arabian Sea as a result confluence of moisture from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal in middle atmospheric level move towards the northern part of the country.

On Wednesday, the maximum temperature remains below normal around 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature remained one notch above normal at 21.8 degrees Celsius.

Though the weather forecast agency ruled out the possibility of heavy rainfall, they said isolated places were likely to experience rain in spells. “It is unexpected weather condition. The state will experience drizzle over the next 24 hours at isolated places”, he added.

On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was at 33.8 degrees Celsius, one degree above the expected mark. The minimum temperature was 19.8 degrees Celsius, which is five degrees more than what was expected.
