Soul symphony

In a bid to encourage and inspire young musicians, Gomantak Maratha Samaj Goa in association with the Art and Culture Department of Goa is organising the second edition of the musical concert ‘Sangeet Samelan’ on October 19 and 20, 4 p.m. onwards at the Gomantak Maratha Samaj Hall, Panaji. The programme will be inaugurated by Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant along with the deputy chief minister, Chandrakant Kavlekar; musical scholar, Prasad Sawkar; and singer, Meena Faterpekar.

“The programme was started a year ago in a bid to inspire young singers of Goa to aim big and follow the example of famous singers that have come out of Goa, such as Lata Mangeshkar,” said president, Gomantak Maratha Samaj Goa, Gaurav Mandrekar.

On the first day, Meena Faterpekar will serenade the audience with a vocal classical while on the second day the concert will have a performance by Tulsidas Navelkar on the tabla, a flute recital by Aditya Joshi, a vocal classical by Narendra Kothambikar, and more. The artistes will be accompanied by various Goan musicians.
