Poster competition for children.

As a prelude to the National Fire Service Day on April 14, the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services is launching a series of activities to enhance the level of awareness among the citizens with stress on school children. The national theme for this year’s National Fire Service Day is – ‘Fire Loss is National Loss – Let us adopt Fire Safety Measures’.

As a part this awareness campaign, a poster competition has been organised for the primary and middle school children of the state on April 8. The competition is divided into two groups, group I (7-10 years) – Topic: ‘Safe Fire Unsafe Fire’ and Group II (11-14 years) – Topic: ‘Fire accidents can be prevented’.

The Department has identified the following schools as the centers for holding the competitions:

Panaji – Don Bosco High School, Panaji; Mapusa – Government Primary & Middle School, Opp Post Office, Mapusa; Vasco – St Andrew’s Institute, Vasco; Pilerne – St Lourdes Convent High School, Saligao, Bardez. Pernem – Government Primary Middle School Surbanwada, Pernem; Ponda – A J De Almeida High School, Ponda; Bicholim – Government Primary School, ADEI Building, Bicholim; Valpoi – Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Valpoi; Old Goa – Old Goa Educational Institute, Katyebhat, Ella, Old Goa; Kundaim – Shiksha Sadan High School, Priol Mardol, Ponda; Margao – St. Sebastian English Primary School, Near Pandava Chapel, Aquem, Margao; Cuchorem – The Sarvodaya Educational Society’s High School, Curchorem; Canacona – Muncipal Hall, Chaudi, Canacona; Verna – Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Narayan Bandekar School, Goa Housing Board Colony, Upasnagar, Zuarinagar.

(The participants are requested to report to the venues of the competition at 10 a.m. Top three winners in each group will be awarded cash prizes and certificate, besides this participation certificate will be awarded for all the participants.)
