Studio Arpora is a charming art gallery which was started by Shireen Mody and Saffron Wiehl- the artistic mother-daughter duo. It opened in November 2018. The interiors of this place have calming delicate colours and their beautiful artworks adorn the walls. “Studio Arpora is different because it is very personal. My mother has been painting before I was born. I grew up around her paintings and started loving art,” Saffron reveals.

Shireen Mody uses acrylic on canvas. Her elegant paintings are about Goa- the beach views, night markets, fishermen, etc.  Saffron works with watercolours and her paintings are nature based as well. This includes animals and other things people like looking at. Shireen’s paintings start from Rs. 1 lakh while Saffron’s are between Rs.5000 to Rs. 40,000. Prints of Saffron’s artworks are available too.

They sell fashionable scarves that are created using Saffron’s drawings which are printed on silk. The other interesting items available here are gift wrapping paper, kitchen towels, postcards, and beach sarongs. All the designs are hand-drawn and no photoshop is used. It is only scanned and digitalized on the computer. In the future, they plan to hold watercolour workshops. Another goal of theirs is to sell cushion covers and placemats with their art on it.
