Get ready for All Goa State Level Mando Festival

People of different ages will come together to perform at Kala Academy, Panaji, on 18th December 2019 for the All Goa State Level Mando Festival (53rd edition.) It is a two-day event where there will be traditional folk mando performances from 5 pm onwards.

The event is organized by Goa Cultural and Social Centre in collaboration with the Department of Art and Culture and Kala Academy. The chief guest for the inaugural function will be Govind Gaude, minister for art and culture.

The festival is held in six categories- children (singing), teenagers (singing), traditional (singing old mando songs by adults), original (newly composed mando songs by adults), mando dance (wherein a few will be singing and dancing), and senior citizens (singing). In all, 35 groups will take part in the festival wherein in each group has 15 participants.

Three prizes will be given in each category. The winners will be given cash prizes and every participant will get a memento and certificate. A mando award will be given to the group who has done well on the whole.
