On Sunday, 17 November 2019, Museum of Goa will host Anveer Mehta for a talk titled ‘Life on a Skateboard’, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  Anveer is a skateboarder from India who has used the sport to cause social change. This week, he will tell us his story.

Anveer has helped build a skatepark in Janwar, Madhya Pradesh, as part of the project ‘Janwaar Castle’.  This project was aimed at creating social and economic change through sports. He has worked on other skateparks in India, and this talk will include stories from these places as well. This talk is an opportunity to look at the international counterculture that is the skating community, through an Indian lens.

A few members of the skating community in Goa will be present at this talk. There will also be a few skateboards around for all visitors to try their hand at the sport!
