Another Sunday of fun and excitement and another edition of trekking by Goa Tourism Development Corporation to Assodem village on 11th August 2019.

Assodem is a small village located in Satari Taluka of North Goa. Assodem village is rich in natural beauty and is surrounded by forests. The main source of income is Agriculture and Dairy. The total number of households in Assodem village are around 10 to 12 with a population of around 50 to 60 people. The distance from Valpoi to Assodem is around 16km. At the top of the village, there are two waterfalls which take around 20 to 35 minutes to reach by walk.

The trek promises to be moderate and adventurous. One can admire the forest with flowing streams, a variety of butterflies and experience the nature at its best. The trek comprises of a steep climb at certain places and slippery rocks dominate the terrain.

Pack your trekking bags and head towards an easy and adventurous trek amidst nature and picturesque landscapes.

The trekking expedition is open to all especially those with a spirit for adventure and nature lovers.

Transport arrangements have been made from Mapusa Residency at 7:30 and from Paryatan Bhavan, Patto at 8:30 am followed by a pick-up at Margao Residency at 7:15 am. Pick-up at Old Goa Banasthari, Porvorim, Cortalim and Verna is also available.

Interested trekkers are requested to carry along an extra pair of clothes, rainwear, trekking shoes, drinking water, snacks and binoculars.  Smoking and consumption of alcohol are prohibited.

The charge per head is Rs. 800 which is inclusive of lunch, transport and guiding.

Please note: The expedition is not recommended for those who are physically unfit.
