CM greets Laxman Pai for Padma Bhushan Award

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday visited renowned artist Laxman Pal, at Dona Paula, whose name figures in the list of Padma Bhushan Award announced by the Centre on Thursday. The said award will be conferred on the recipient at the hands of President of India at Delhi at the end of March 2018. Parrikar expressed happiness that Pal has been chosen for the prestigious award. The Chief Minister extended his heartiest greetings. Pal Joined Goa College of Art as a professor in 1977 and served in various capacities right from professor to the principal of the college and retired In the year 1987. Thereafter he went to Delhi and settled down in Bharat) Artist Colony. The Goa government conferred on him the prestigious Gomant Vibhushan Award in the year 2016. Dr. Pramod Savant, Speaker of Goa legislative assembly, Siddharth Kuncalienkar, chairman of EDC, Prasad Lolyenkar, director of the Department of Higher Education were present on the occasion.
