Celebrating Ideas

The 11th edition of the D.D. Kosambi Festival of Ideas will be held from February 13 to 16 at Kala Academy, Panaji.

Addressing a press conference the director of art and culture, Gurudas Pilarnekar said that, the thoughts expressed at this festival provides fodder to the mind and also for the soul. He also encouraged the students to participate in the event in large numbers.

Among the speakers at the festival are Makarand Sathe (A playwright, novelist, dramatist and director) who will speak on ‘nationalism, culture and theatre: in times of globalization’. Jaya Ramchandani, (science educator, entrepreneur and curator) will be explaining ‘The paradox of learning in 21st century’. Lord Karan Bilimoria (A British Indian entrepreneur) will be speaking on ‘A Parsi’s view on the future of India, UK and EU relations in the context of BREXIT’ and Sudhir Patwardhan (An Indian contemporary painter and a radiologist) will speak on ‘What is today’s art about?’

(The festival will be inaugurated on February 13 at 5 pm and will be open to public till February 16)
