The 10th edition of Goa Arts and Literature Festival (GALF) 2019 organised and hosted by The International Centre Goa in association with Goa Writers and the Directorate of Art and Culture will take place from December 5 till December 7, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the International Centre Goa, Dona Paula. The Inaugural will be held on 6th December 2019 at 6 p.m. at Maquinez palace (Audi 1), Panjim, Goa at the hands of Dr. Antonio Chrystello Tavares, Consul general of Portugal in Goa The Inaugural film “Parque Mayer” will be screened at 6.30 pm. This year special emphasis is given to the second day 7th December 2019, where Children’s films will be screened along with the others. Papel de Natal (Christmas wrapping paper) and A História de um Caramelo (Story of a Toffee) will be screened for children. The synopsis of all the movies will be available at the venue. On the 8th December, 5 movies will be screened form 2.00 pm to 8.00 p.m. Films directed by Leão Lopes, Licínio de Azevedo, Marta Pssoa, Patricia Sequeira and Fernando Vendrell will be showcased. Bal Bhavan will be organising an interstate cultural programme on December 8 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao and on December 9 at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali. 100 children from Gujarat, Diu, Telangana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Shimoga (Karnataka), Kerala and Bal Bhavan Goa will be participating in this two-day programme. This event is being organised by Bal Bhavan Goa to give a platform to children of other states to perform in Goa. The programme will help to inter-exchange the cultural heritage and cultural folk songs and dance of Gujarat, Diu, Telangana, Rajasthan, Kerala, Maharashtra, Shimoga (Karnataka) and Goa. The programme at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao will be held in the presence of deputy chief minister Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar on December 8, 10 a.m., whereas Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, will be the chief guest on December 9 at 3:30 p.m. The cultural programme is open to the public.
